Just a reminder: The people who want the internet controlled have not given up. (Just heard that there could even be another vote in the Senate right after Thanksgiving!) And they’re not going to; they have too much to gain. We mustn’t give up either. Until there are clear laws to protect the internet, we have to remain on guard. I’m not trying to sound alarmist or militant, but this isn’t the first time the US has discussed censoring the internet, and it won’t be the last. And it’s not like it hasn’t been done in other places either.
The internet protects us, but we must also protect the internet. It’s the most powerful and democratic tool of the modern era.
Call and write to your representatives. And do smaller stuff like signing the petition at http://stopcensorship.org/
